Managing Director - Ir Yim Wai Kit, Ricky
Mr. Yim is a professional civil and geotechnical engineer with over 27 years of experience providing technical input, design and project management, independent checking engineer services at various stages of a project from preliminary design, detailed design, tender design, construction supervision, to final account stages for a numerous number of large scale civil engineering projects across North and South East Asia regions but primarily in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, Brunei.
Mr. Yim obtained his Master of Science in Rock Mechanics and Foundation Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in UK in 1998. He has a demonstrable record of success on large-scale projects together with strong leadership, management skills and effective decision-making capabilities. Since Sept 2010, Ricky has been listed on the Geotechnical Engineers Register kept under Section 3(3A) of Building Ordinance of HKSAR, i.e. Mr. Yim has been listed as a Registered Geotechnical Engineer or RGE for over 5 years.
Mr. Yim was the Acting Managing Director from May 2012 to December 2012, and the Managing Director of SMEC Asia Limited since January 2013 up to Feb 2016. He was responsible for managing the HK business unit in all disciplines including geotechnics & tunnels, civil & infrastructure, environmental, and a pool of full time employee with 50+ engineers. He was responsible for the overall performance of the company, developing regional business operating plans and financial expenditure budgets, coordinating technical resources to support SMEC international projects. At the same time he was discharging duties as Project Director, Design Manager, Designated ICE Signatory, Registered Geotechnical Engineer (RGE) , and T5 for numerous projects.
Mr Yim led a couple of design and build tender design projects for the giant international contractors/consortiums commonly encountered in the international bidding arena, involving metro projects in Singapore, Vietnam, and Doha. He participated in the tunnel tender design of a hydroelectric power design and build projects in Indonesia. He led the Eco Corridor design and build project in Brunei. He was Independent Checking Engineer for the Rohtang Tunnel in India and Adelaide Desalination Cavern in Australia.
Mr. Yim is currently the Managing Director of ASG Consulting Limited providing overall management as well as technical input to the projects. ASG is a client oriented engineering consultant in Hong Kong established in 2004. ASG currently provides civil, geotechnical and structural engineering consulting services in the field of civil infrastructure and developments of buildings as well as various A&A works.

Detailed Design
In Hong Kong Mr. Yim led as the Contractor’s Design Manager/Project Director for over a dozen design and build projects involving railway, drainage and cable tunnels.

Mr. Kwok obtained his Master of Science in Applied Geosciences from University of Hong Kong in 2002. He is a professional geotechnical engineer holding the MIOM3 qualification since 2003, Mr. Kwok is also an engineering geologist received professional geologist accreditations from a number of certifying bodies around the world including those based in UK, Europe, USA, and Australia. Mr. Kwok has participated in the design and site supervision of a large number of private small projects, and major government projects entailing deep and shallow foundation, site formation, ELS, site investigation, settlement monitoring. These government projects include West East New Territories (WENT) Landfill for Environmental Protection Department, Ting Kau Bridge and Approach Viaduct under Highways Department, Tiu Keng Leng Site Formation works under Hong Kong Housing Authority, Tiu Keng Leng (South) under MTR, West Kowloon drainage improvement works under Drainage Services Department, reconstruction and improvement of Tuen Mun Road under Highway Department.

Mr. Chan obtained his Master of Science in Engineering Geology from University of Durham in UK in 1987. He is a professional tunnel engineer holding MIOM3 and RPE(G) qualifications since 1990 and 1993 respectively. He is also a HK Certified Professional Geologist since 2003. Mr. Chan has local and international experience predominantly in design, site supervision and project management of various major railways, utility tunnels projects in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China. These tunnel projects include the Express Rail Link C826 Huanggang to Mai Po Tunnels, CLP Chi Ma Wan Cable Tunnel, CLP Kwai Chung Tunnel, CLP Tuen Mun Tunnel, CLP Castle Peak Tunnel, WSD Contract No. 14/WSD/93 Siu Ho Wan/ Silvermine Bay Aqueduct, and MTRC C414 & 408Z in Shau Kei Wan, Taipei Metro C221 and C334. Moreover, Mr. Chan has expertise in the design and construction supervision of pipe jacking and micro-tunnelling, relevant experiences include West Rail Tin Shui Wai Station project and the Tin Shui Wai Landfill and Dredging project, in both projects Mr. Chan was Resident Engineer responsible for all aspects of geotechnical works such as large diameter bored pile, retaining wall, fill embankment, landfill dredging, slope works, instrumentation, and the utilities installation by pipe jacking.
